We're a small, fast-moving team that cares deeply about beautiful product, beautiful storytelling, and building a brand people genuinely love.

About the Role

We're looking for a Bay Area-based social media intern who lives and breathes content. You're the person in your friend group who's always filming, always knows the trend before it peaks, and can turn a 30-second clip into something people actually want to watch. You'll work closely with our marketing team and founders to create scroll-stopping content across TikTok and Instagram, and you'll have real ownership over what we make and how we show up.

This role is hands-on and on-camera adjacent. You should be comfortable both behind and in front of the camera. 

What You'll Do

  • Create TikTok and Instagram content (Reels, trends, BTS, product moments)
  • Help concept and capture founder content, from talking-head videos to day-in-the-life and storytelling formats
  • Pitch original content ideas and adapt trends to the gemi brand voice
  • Run ongoing trend research so we're early, not late, on what's working
  • Conduct competitor audits and pull insights on what other beauty brands are doing well
  • Support community engagement: comments, DMs, and influencer interactions
  • Help keep our content library organized and assets backed up

What We're Looking For

  • Based in the Bay Area and able to film in person 
  • Outgoing and confident directing a shoot
  • Strong editing skills in CapCut (bonus for Premiere, After Effects, or Photoshop)
  • A real eye for aesthetics and an instinct for what makes content feel premium
  • Deeply online and genuinely tuned into TikTok and Instagram culture
  • Organized, proactive, and able to take an idea from concept to posted
  • Interest in beauty, branding, or content creation
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree (marketing, communications, or related is a plus but not required)

Nice to Have

  • Experience growing a personal or brand social account
  • Basic graphic design or motion skills
  • Photography or short-form video portfolio
