Middle School Mathematics Teacher

Location: SLAM Palm Beach Middle School

Palm Beach County, FL
Position Type: Full-Time

Position Summary

The Middle School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction aligned with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards while creating a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment. The teacher will design and implement effective lesson plans, monitor student progress, collaborate with colleagues, and communicate regularly with families to promote student achievement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with Florida B.E.S.T. Standards.
  • Teach mathematical concepts including number sense, algebraic reasoning, geometry, measurement, probability, statistics, and problem-solving strategies.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of all learners.
  • Foster critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and real-world application of mathematical concepts.
  • Utilize formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress and guide instruction.
  • Create and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that encourages student engagement and academic success.
  • Integrate instructional technology and hands-on learning experiences to enhance mathematics instruction.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to improve instructional practices and student outcomes.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Uphold school policies while maintaining high expectations for student achievement and behavior.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Valid Florida Educator Certificate or eligibility for certification.
  • Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passion for helping middle school students develop confidence and proficiency in mathematics.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Middle Grades Mathematics certification.
  • Previous experience teaching middle school mathematics.
  • Knowledge of Florida B.E.S.T. Standards.
  • Experience using educational technology and data-driven instructional practices to improve student outcomes.

Salary: Follow Palm Beach County School District salary scale and referendum.
