About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dependable Gardening & STEAM Enrichment Instructor to inspire young learners through hands-on gardening experiences and interactive STEAM activities. This role is ideal for educators who enjoy working with early elementary students and believe in learning through exploration, creativity, and nature.
Instructors will lead engaging lessons that introduce children to gardening fundamentals, environmental awareness, basic science concepts, and age-appropriate STEAM projects in a fun and supportive classroom setting.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate engaging Gardening & STEAM enrichment classes for TK–1 students.
- Teach child-safe gardening skills, including planting, watering, observing plant growth, and caring for garden spaces.
- Incorporate science, engineering, creativity, and environmental learning into each lesson.
- Foster curiosity, teamwork, and confidence through hands-on activities.
- Maintain a safe, positive, and organized learning environment.
- Prepare and organize instructional materials before each class.
- Communicate professionally with school staff and the Digital Dreamers program team.
- Submit a brief after-class session report following each class.
Requirements
- Must successfully pass a background check.
- Must complete all required onboarding and school compliance training.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Reliable transportation to assigned school sites in San Francisco.
- Must be available throughout the Fall 2026 program.
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching credential or education background is a plus.
- Experience with project-based learning or enrichment programming.
- Background in environmental education, gardening, biology, or STEAM is preferred.
