Growth and Marketing Intern

Company Description
Anthea connects fast-growing startups with early-career growth and marketing talent.

We screen, interview, and match candidates before their profiles reach a company’s inbox, so startups spend less time sorting through resumes and more time meeting qualified people. For candidates, Anthea opens the door to high-impact startup roles where they can learn fast, build real experience, and grow their careers.

Anthea is built around professional development, strong candidate-company fit, and meaningful opportunities in fast-paced startup environments.

Role Description
This posting is to join Anthea’s talent community as a Growth & Marketing Intern.

Once you apply, we get to know your background, strengths, interests, and goals. From there, we match you with internship opportunities at startups in our network. This is not one single internship. The exact company, team, focus area, and setup will vary by placement.

In these internships, you may work on marketing campaigns, growth initiatives, content, customer acquisition, community, social media, outreach, research, and user engagement. Day-to-day responsibilities may include market and competitor research, creating or supporting marketing content, tracking campaign performance, helping with experiments, managing small projects, and finding ways to improve key growth metrics.

Most roles are based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with on-site, hybrid, and remote options depending on the company.

Qualifications
We’re looking for early-career candidates who are curious, ambitious, and excited to build real startup experience.

Strong candidates usually have:

  • Curiosity about startups, growth, marketing, and how companies build audiences and acquire customers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments
  • Analytical thinking, including the ability to interpret data, spot trends, and turn observations into insights
  • Interest in growth marketing, experimentation, user acquisition, social media, content, brand, community, or customer engagement
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and how brands use them to grow
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and ability to manage tasks and deadlines
  • Comfort using productivity tools such as spreadsheets, slides, docs, and project management tools
  • Experience creating content, running social accounts, doing outreach, analyzing campaigns, or supporting marketing projects is a plus
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant program such as Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is preferred, but not required
