Part-Time Research & Grant Writing Intern (Virtual)
Summer Internship 10–15 Hours per Week with Potential to Continue Through Fall Semester

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and intellectually driven college student to join our team as a Part-Time Research & Grant Writing Intern. This is a virtual internship requiring 10–15 hours per week on a consistent schedule.

 

This position is ideal for a student interested in research, writing, communications, nonprofit management, business, public policy, or related fields who is looking to gain hands-on experience conducting research, developing compelling written content, and assisting with grant writing and strategic initiatives.

 

The successful candidate will support a variety of projects by researching funding opportunities, drafting grant proposals and other professional content, gathering supporting data, and helping communicate our mission through clear, persuasive writing. This position requires someone with exceptional writing skills, a strong desire to learn, and the ability to quickly master new concepts, technologies, and AI-powered tools.

 

Responsibilities

• Conduct research to identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies.
• Assist in preparing grant proposals, letters of inquiry, reports, and supporting documentation.
• Research industry trends, statistics, and supporting information to strengthen grant applications and organizational initiatives.
• Draft professional correspondence, presentations, reports, and other written content as assigned.
• Organize research findings and maintain accurate records of grant opportunities, deadlines, and submission requirements.
• Collaborate virtually with company leadership to develop compelling narratives that clearly communicate organizational impact and strategic priorities.
• Proofread and edit documents to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency, and professional quality.
• Assist with research projects, strategic planning initiatives, and special assignments.
• Utilize AI-powered tools, online databases, and emerging technologies to improve research efficiency and writing quality.
• Track grant opportunities, submission timelines, and project progress using Microsoft Excel and other organizational tools.

 

Qualifications

Required:

• Completed at least one year of college
• Available to work 10–15 hours per week on a regular, consistent schedule
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a virtual environment
• Highly motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Outstanding research and analytical abilities
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and professional writing
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology, software platforms, and AI tools
• High attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, accurate work
• Proficiency in: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint

Preferred:

• Experience with grant writing, proposal writing, academic research, technical writing, fundraising, or nonprofit organizations
• Familiarity with AI productivity tools and online research platforms
