Graduate Assistant - President's Commission on the Status of Women Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Administrative – Coordinate, attend, and take minutes at PCSW and PCSW sub-committee meetings. Manage the PCSW’s internal and campus-wide communications, marketing, and promotion activities. (30%)
- Research – In partnership with PCSW and the Memorial Library, conduct archival research for the PCSW, Women’s Center, and other gender-supportive programming at Minnesota State University, Mankato. (20%)
- Programming and Outreach – Design, coordinate, facilitate, and evaluate events and activities that support the mission of the PCSW. (20%)
- Student Support and Advocacy – Meet regularly with student government representatives and connect with other Minnesota State University, Mankato students. (20%)
- Other duties as assigned (10%)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong communication and administrative skills.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of gender equity, gender-based violence, social justice, and other relevant issues.
- A bachelor's degree
- Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
- Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Involvement in student organizations and activities in areas of social justice, gender equity, identity groups, history and research, and activism.
- Organizational and program management skills.
- Research experience, preferred experience with history, gender equity, and archival research.
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver.

The President’s Commission on the Status of Women is seeking an administratively organized and curious graduate student who is interested in advocating for gender equity, advancing social justice, and empower students, faculty, and staff to engage as leaders at Minnesota State University, Mankato. This position has a possibility of up to 5 hours of remote work in a 20-hour work week.
Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
