Client Specialist Paralegal

Rickner Moskovitz LLP is accepting applications for a Client Specialist Paralegal to join our team. We are a boutique civil rights law firm representing victims of police and government misconduct, whistleblowers, and employees who have suffered unlawful discrimination or retaliation.

The Client Specialist Paralegal position includes an array of responsibilities, including administrative tasks, scheduling, document drafting, and legal research. The primary responsibility will involve client communication and intake assessment of potential clients.  The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in civil rights, and experience communicating with incarcerated individuals and/or victims of police misconduct and other forms of government abuse.

Our paralegals are an integral part of our team and assist the attorneys with all aspects of our work. The position requires someone who is interested in client-facing work, including answering phones, meeting clients, and conducting intake interviews. Some of the work is administrative but is woven into all aspects of civil rights litigation. For example, making and monitoring FOIL requests, and keeping the intakes organized. Our team meets frequently to discuss projects, assignments, and new clients.

We offer medical, vision, dental, and retirement benefits. Annual salary is consistent with experience, and ranges between $52,500-$65,000.

Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience preferred. Experience or demonstrated interest in the areas of civil rights, constitutional law, criminal justice, police misconduct, and/or public service is strongly preferred. Fluency in Spanish is a plus. The position is in-office five days a week to start. Some work from home may be possible after training is finished.

Interested applicants should send a resume, a cover letter (specific to our firm’s practice), and, to the extent available, a college transcript to info@rmcivilrights.com.
