Cass Human Service Zone is seeking an Eligibility Support Specialist in Fargo, North Dakota

Cass Human Service Zone is seeking an Eligibility Support Specialist to assist the Economic Assistance team through administrative, programmatic, and client support. This position works with programs including Health Care Coverage, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance, Child Care Assistance, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, and General Assistance.  

Program training is provided for this position.

Eligibility Support Specialist example of duties:

  • Provide support in a high-volume front-desk lobby environment by assisting clients and Team Members with inquiries and directing them to resources.
  • Prepare documents for processing, application registration, and screening for expedite.
  • Review, input, and retrieve data from various databases and computer systems.
  • Maintain working knowledge of laws, rules, policies, procedures, and other regulations.

To succeed in this position, you will have strong administrative, communication, and customer service skills and be comfortable working with diverse populations. You should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage time and priorities effectively while maintaining empathy and professionalism. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping others and making a difference in the community.

Eligibility Support Specialist:

Requires a high school diploma or general educational development diploma, plus one of the following, 

  • Completion of the Eligibility Worker one-year certificate program.
  • Completion of 90 semester hours or 135 quarter hours of a bachelor’s degree program.
  • Three years of work experience involving processing claims, loans, financial eligibility benefits, credit reviews, abstracts, taxes, or housing assistance, or working in the clerical, accounting, bookkeeping, legal, financial, business, teaching, investments/financial planning, computer/data processing fields.
  • Three years of any combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Must maintain valid driver's license and auto insurance.

Some travel throughout Cass County could occur.
