Marketing Intern

Marketing Intern
Part-Time | McLean, VA (Hybrid) | Paid

About Loansteady
We’re a small-by-design mortgage company bringing a much-needed dose of humanity to the lending process.
We answer the phone, explain every fee, and treat borrowers like people — not leads. Our team works out of McLean, VA, serving clients with the kind of personal touch that big lenders can’t offer and don’t try to.
Personal touch, better pricing, good people. That’s it. That’s the whole thing.

The role
Most mortgage marketing is pretty boring — generic, forgettable, and it all looks the same. We think that's actually a huge opportunity. There's so much room to do something different in this space, and we're looking for someone who wants to be part of that.

Our brand voice and content strategy are already built out — we just need someone to help bring it to life day to day. You’ll work closely with leadership across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, email, and more. We’ll get you up to speed and give you more ownership as you grow into it.
You’ll start in-office about 3 days a week while you’re learning the ropes, then shift to a more flexible schedule once you’re up and running.

What you’ll actually do

Content creation — this is the core of the job
•Shoot photos and short video at closing days, team moments, and behind-the-scenes office life — real moments, not staged ones. This is the biggest part of the job.
•Write and schedule social posts for LinkedIn, Instagram, and TikTok (we’ll teach you the brand voice)
•Help produce carousels and graphics using our templates and AI design tools — you don’t need to be a designer
•Draft email and SMS templates in our CRM that sound human, not corporate
Brand & community
•Keep our social presence active — post on schedule, respond to comments, engage with partners
•Monitor and respond to Google reviews (reputation matters when you’re small)
•Help maintain consistency across everything we put out — right tone, right look, right language

Strategy support
•Track what’s working and what isn’t — engagement, reach, DMs, leads
•Help brainstorm campaign ideas and content angles
•Support marketing initiatives across email, events, and partner outreach

Who you are
We care more about what you can make than what’s on your transcript.

Must-haves
•You’re a solid writer. Clear, conversational, no fluff. You don’t need to be perfect — just someone who cares about how things sound.
•You can shoot good photos and video with your phone. Natural light, candid moments, real people. Show us what you’ve captured.
•You’re organized enough to manage a content calendar and keep things moving on schedule.
•You’re currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in marketing, communications, business, or something adjacent.
•You can work from our McLean office ~3 days/week to start.

Nice-to-haves
•Experience running a real social account (brand, club, side project — not just your personal page)
•Basic comfort with email marketing tools (Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar)
•Interest in real estate, finance, or small business — but not required. We’ll teach you the industry.
•Comfort with design tools like Canva or Figma (helpful but not required — we have AI tools that handle most graphic work)
Why this is worth your time
•You’ll work directly with leadership — not buried in a department. Your ideas get heard.
•Structured mentorship for your first 1-2 months. Someone will actually teach you, not just hand you a login and say 'figure it out.'
•Your work goes live. No mock projects, no hypotheticals. You’ll build a portfolio of real campaigns for a real company.
•Flexible schedule that works around school. We care about output, not hours in a chair.
•A small team that’s growing — strong performers have a path to a bigger role.

How to apply
Send your resume, a short note about why this sounds interesting, and examples of work you’ve created (photos you've taken, social posts, video clips, writing samples — anything that shows what you can do) to careers@loansteady.com.
