Political Science Research Assistant – Supervisor, Presidential Norms Labeling Project

POSITION INFORMATION: 

Program Information 

This position helps oversee a qualitative labeling project focused on presidential norms. The role is supervisory: the student will coordinate and quality-check labeling work rather than perform the bulk of the labeling themselves.

 

Job Duties 

  1. Supervising and coordinating a qualitative labeling project on presidential norms;
  2. Monitoring labeling quality, consistency, and progress; and
  3. Supporting the project lead with reporting and troubleshooting as the work proceeds.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Senior or advanced undergraduate standing with advanced quantitative methods training (e.g., the graduate methods sequence within the Political Science department). Familiarity with research on presidential norms. Must be self-disciplined and detail-oriented, with demonstrated capacity in research and analysis.

Scheduling Information

60–120 hours total for the project (not weekly), spread over approximately 8 weeks; hours are flexible and self-scheduled. Project is fully remote. Work may be completed around another job or on the student’s own time.

 

Appointment Information

Appointment is expected to start in early July (flexible) and run for approximately 8 weeks over the summer term. This position is not available for reappointment or extension.
