Office Assistant: Languages, Literatures & International Studies

Position: LLIS Student Office Assistant
BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary role of the Office Assistant is to support the students, faculty, and staff of the Department of Languages, Literatures and International Studies with a variety of tasks.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain up to 8-10 hours per week in the Languages, Literatures & International Studies main office, Whitman 145.
2. General Office Duties: Including (but not limited to) making copies for faculty, monitoring departmental email inbox, checking the mail, answering office phone, maintaining the department's social media presence, and hanging up posters around campus.
3. Customer Service: Perform various office duties such as greeting visitors/students, and answering basic department questions.
4. Graphic Design: Design social media graphics & posters for department events and programs.
5. Event Support: Attend departmental events for setup and take down. Take photos during the events for future social media postings.
6. Other assignments as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as evidenced by previous employment, volunteer, or classroom experience.
2. Ability to use Adobe Express or Canva as evidenced by design examples.
3. Ability to promote programs across media platforms as evidenced by social media experience.
4. Maintain a 3.0 GPA each semester.
5. Be free from any type of academic or social probation.
