Mathematics Teacher (Grades 4-8)
Bronx Arts and Science Charter School Middle School

About the Role:
Under the direction of the School Director, the teacher facilitates student success by implementing district-approved curriculum, documenting student progress, addressing individual educational needs, and creating a safe, flexible learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and administer middle school curriculum
- Design and deliver mathematics instruction aligned with the iLearn Schools Mission and Standards for Mathematical Practice
- Conduct ongoing assessments and modify instruction to fit individual student needs
- Maintain accurate records, grading, and attendance
- Encourage parental involvement and maintain effective communication
- Collaborate with staff and participate in faculty meetings and committees
- Supervise students during school day activities

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
- Valid New York Instructional Certificate (CE, CEAS) with Subject Matter Specialization in Mathematics
- Grades 4-5: NY Instructional Certificate (K-6) with a background/strong desire to teach Mathematics
- Grades 6-8: NY Instructional Certificate (CE, CEAS) with Subject Matter Specialization in Mathematics
- Proficiency in educational technology, data analysis, and action planning
- Knowledge of child growth, development, and differentiated instruction
- Ability to communicate effectively (oral and written)
- Criminal history background check, evidence of adequate health, and Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test required
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation
- Prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred

Compensation and Benefits:
- Tested Subject Stipend: $2,000
- Experience: $200 per year
- Advanced Degree: Masters $3,000; PhD $5,000
