Frontend & Product Design Summer Intern

Frontend & Product Design Summer Intern

About Forkast
Forkast is a Wharton-backed, AI-native revenue management and restaurant intelligence startup helping restaurant chains make better decisions around pricing, competition, delivery channels, menu strategy, and local market positioning. Our platform brings together competitor data, menu pricing, delivery marketplace links, location intelligence, and internal dashboards so restaurant teams can understand what is happening in their markets and act faster.

Role Overview
Forkast is looking for a Frontend & Product Design Summer Intern to help design and improve the internal dashboards and product workflows used by our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both UI/UX design and frontend thinking. You will work on dashboard layouts, data review screens, competitor-finder workflows, and visual systems that make complex restaurant data easier to understand.
You will collaborate closely with the product, data, and engineering team to turn messy workflows into clean, usable interfaces.

What You’ll Work On
• Design clean dashboard screens for restaurant pricing, competitor intelligence, and market analysis workflows.
• Create wireframes, user flows, and UI mockups for internal tools and future customer-facing dashboards.
• Improve the usability of review workflows for competitor matching, menu extraction, data labeling, and quality checks.
• Work with engineers to translate product requirements into practical frontend components.
• Help create a simple design system for buttons, tables, filters, cards, states, and review screens.
• Think through how restaurant operators should understand competitor pricing, delivery data, promotions, and menu changes.
• Test designs with the internal team and iterate based on feedback.

Ideal Qualifications
• Interest in UI/UX, product design, frontend engineering, SaaS dashboards, or data visualization.
• Experience with Figma, Claude Design or another design tool.
• Strong sense of layout, hierarchy, spacing, and usability.
• Ability to simplify complex data workflows into clear screens.
• Basic understanding of React, Next.js, HTML/CSS, or frontend development is a plus.
• Interest in startups, restaurant technology, AI tools, or data products.
• Strong communication and willingness to iterate quickly.

What You’ll Learn
• How an early-stage AI/data startup designs real internal product workflows.
• How to turn backend/data systems into usable dashboards.
• How restaurant pricing, competitor intelligence, and delivery marketplace data are used in business decisions.
• How product, engineering, and data teams work together in a startup environment.
