Summer Internship 10–15 Hours per Week with Potential Through Fall Semester
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and adaptable college student to join our team as a Part-Time Nonprofit Operations & Communications Intern. This is a virtual internship requiring 10–15 hours per week on a consistent schedule.
This position is ideal for a student interested in nonprofit management, communications, public health, healthcare, business, marketing, public policy, or related fields who is looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience supporting a mission-driven organization.
Our nonprofit foundation is dedicated to serving individuals and families affected by a rare disease through patient advocacy, medical education, research support, and the development of valuable resources that foster connection and community. Because we are a growing organization, this internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute across multiple areas of the foundation while gaining exposure to the day-to-day operations of a nonprofit.
Responsibilities
• Assist with website updates by working closely with our website developer to ensure content is current, accurate, and engaging.
• Research medical, nonprofit, advocacy, and educational topics to support organizational initiatives.
• Draft and edit website content, educational materials, newsletters, blog posts, and other communications.
• Assist with the creation of patient resources, educational materials, and advocacy initiatives.
• Research best practices, nonprofit trends, grant opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
• Support social media, fundraising, outreach, and awareness campaigns as needed.
• Assist with special projects that support the foundation's mission and strategic priorities.
• Organize information, maintain project documentation, and assist with administrative initiatives.
• Collaborate virtually with leadership and external partners on a variety of organizational projects.
• Adapt to changing priorities and provide support wherever needed to help advance the foundation's mission.
Qualifications
Required:
• Completed at least one year of college
• Available to work 10–15 hours per week on a regular, consistent schedule
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a virtual environment
• Highly motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills
• Outstanding research and analytical abilities
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, punctuation, and professional writing
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology, software platforms, websites, and AI tools
• Comfortable managing multiple projects and shifting priorities in a growing organization
• High attention to detail and commitment to producing polished, accurate work
• Proficiency in:
