Geotechnical Engineering Intern

Kick-start your engineering career with hands-on experience in geotechnical and environmental consulting at DRGeoES, LLC! Based in Shreveport, Louisiana, our firm specializes in environmental and geotechnical engineering services, construction quality control, and materials testing. Led by seasoned professional engineer Dave Rambaran, we work on multi-million-dollar projects across the southern and eastern U.S. We’re currently seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineering Intern or Entry-Level Engineer (E.I.T.) to support our growing operations. This is an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates looking to gain real-world field and office experience under the guidance of experienced professionals.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist with geotechnical investigations, including soil boring and site inspections.
• Support senior engineers by reviewing boring logs and lab test data.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and data analysis.
• Help prepare geotechnical reports, specifications, and field inspection documentation.
• Participate in construction quality assurance and field testing services.
• Travel locally as needed for field assignments and project support.

What We’re Looking For:

• Current student or recent graduate in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (B.S. or equivalent).
• Previous internship or co-op experience in geotechnical work (a plus, but not required).
• Strong understanding of geotechnical fundamentals and eagerness to learn.
• Familiarity with engineering drawings, Microsoft Office, and software like gINT or Geosystems is helpful.
• Excellent communication skills and a team-player attitude.
• Willingness to work in both office and field environments.
