Paid Trial for Part-Time Social Media Content Creator
Paid Trial for Ongoing Part-Time Social Media Content Creator — Independent Music Project
We are looking for a part-time social media content creator to complete a short paid trial for a new independent music project before its first release. If successful, the trial may convert into ongoing part-time work.
The project is alternative / electronic pop / modern synth-driven: stylish, atmospheric, emotionally resonant, slightly mysterious, and music-first. We want social media content as art — not disposable promotion — with visuals that are distinctive, memorable, and visually arresting: the visual equivalent of an earworm, not generic Reels/TikTok filler.
Paid Trial Scope
The initial trial will be a fixed-scope paid project.
Trial period: 10 days from confirmation of the trial assignment.
Deliverables:
- 3 short-form vertical videos suitable for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
- 5 original still images or visual assets that could support the project’s visual world.
- 2 repeatable content format concepts.
- Captions, hooks, or text-overlay suggestions for each video.
- A brief note explaining the visual direction, color/design ideas, and how the proposed formats could be expanded if the collaboration continues.
(Note: A repeatable content format is a recurring structure that can be reused with different music clips, visuals, captions, or themes — for example, a visual motif, lyric-fragment format, “soundtrack to a feeling,” studio/process format, or mood-based video structure.)
Asset Creation / Visual Direction
The candidate will be responsible for creating the visual assets needed for the trial. We may provide music clips, lyric fragments, references, or rough creative direction along the way, but the trial should not depend on receiving a full library of pre-existing materials.
You should be able to create original still images, short video clips, textures, objects, lighting moments, movement, settings, or other visual material that fits the project’s world. Expensive equipment is not required; a phone is fine if you have strong taste and understand composition, lighting, movement, framing, color, mood, and visual rhythm.
The visual look should feel distinctive, intentional, and memorable, with a recognizable color palette, coherent design sensibility and a visual language that supports the emotional tone of the music. We want to have short-form pieces that can stand on their own as miniature visual artworks, not merely advertisements for songs.
Originality / Approval
All content must be original, properly licensed, or cleared for use. No copyrighted third-party footage, music, photography, artwork, film clips, social clips, memes, designs, graphics, or other protected material may be used unless specifically approved and documented. Because this is a developing music project with unreleased material, all final materials are subject to project approval before publication or use.
What We’re Looking For
Ideal candidates may be college students, recent graduates, junior creators, freelance editors, or early-career content creators with strong taste and short-form instincts. You should have:
- Experience creating or editing short-form vertical video.
- Demonstrated ability to capture or create compelling original images and/or video.
- A strong eye for composition, lighting, movement, mood, color, visual rhythm, and memorable imagery.
- Interest in music, culture, fashion, design, film, or visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with Instagram Reels, TikTok, and/or YouTube Shorts.
- Comfort working with unreleased music and confidential creative materials.
- Ability to take feedback and revise quickly; a proactive creative point of view, not just editing execution.
- Familiarity with CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, Canva, After Effects, or similar tools preferred but not required.
