MEDICAL/SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY
STUDENT INTERN LAB TECHNICIAN (ENTRY LEVEL SCIENTIST)
We are seeking a technically minded student with coding experience to help establish key functions in a new private research laboratory. The lab is in the Town of Canandaigua, about 30 miles from the UR Campus. Initial responsibilities may include designing and installing a video conferencing system to support remote collaboration with other laboratories and writing code for laboratory software. A second position is available to assist with biochemical procedures, cell culturing, and following experimental protocols. The ideal candidate will have a passion for science or medical research, and a GPA of 3.5 or better – 4.0 preferred. Many of the tasks may require a steep learning curve and independent thinking.
Bio-Medical Consultants, Inc. is a Contract Research Organization located in the Town of Canandaigua. We are establishing a laboratory facility to study a novel cancer treatment using a medical laser. Laboratory procedures include cell cultures, biochemistry, fluorescence microscopy, spectroscopy and electro-optics. Several university-based laboratories are participants in this project, providing student interns with potential personal contacts for future studies.
Compensation: $16/hr. or more based on prior experience.
Hours: Flexible scheduling around the student’s course schedule, about 10 hours per month.
