K3-Innovations is seeking a motivated R&D Technician I to support non-clinical laboratory studies for a leading global biopharmaceutical organization. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career laboratory professionals looking to launch a career in preclinical research within a regulated scientific environment.

Position Summary

The R&D Technician works closely with Study Directors, Toxicologists, Clinical Veterinarians, and Study Pathologists to support non-clinical laboratory studies in accordance with study protocols, Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), DEA regulations, and company policies.

The successful candidate will assist with both in-life and terminal study activities while maintaining the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform necropsy support and general study-related laboratory activities.
  • Assist with discovery research and non-clinical laboratory studies.
  • Conduct animal health evaluations and observations.
  • Administer test compounds according to study protocols.
  • Collect biological samples for clinical evaluations.
  • Perform weight measurements and maintain accurate study records.
  • Prepare test compound formulations.
  • Record study data accurately and maintain laboratory documentation.
  • Support training on new laboratory techniques as assigned.
  • Follow all SOPs, GLP guidelines, DEA policies, study protocols, and safety requirements.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in a scientific discipline (No prior experience required!)
  • OR
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) with at least four years of laboratory experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately document laboratory data.
  • Motivated, dependable, and eager to learn.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with:
  • Animal handling
  • Blood collection
  • Laboratory dosing techniques
  • Non-clinical research studies

 

Physical Requirements

  • Comfortable working with laboratory animals, including euthanasia procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a laboratory environment.

 

Work Environment

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday
  • 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • Occasional weekday and weekend overtime may be required.
