Procurement Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Procurement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day purchasing activities of the organization by coordinating the procurement of products, supplies, equipment, and marketing materials. This role ensures that purchase requests are processed accurately and efficiently, vendors are properly supported, and procurement activities are completed in accordance with company policies and timelines.
Working onsite and reporting directly to the Logistics Manager and assisting the Purchasing Analyst will play a key role in managing routine purchasing activities, helping streamline operations and allowing senior procurement resources to focus on major purchases, strategic sourcing initiatives, and vendor negotiations.
Responsibilities:
- Process purchase requisitions and coordinate the procurement of products, supplies, equipment, and marketing materials as requested by internal stakeholders.
- Create, review, and track purchase orders to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely processing.
- Monitor the status of purchase requests and follow requisitions through appropriate approval channels until completion.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal departments to ensure orders are delivered according to agreed-upon specifications, quantities, pricing, and timelines.
- Verify that product and service descriptions on purchase orders are accurate, clear, and complete.
- Ensure all required supporting documentation, including quotes, proposals, and approvals, is obtained and properly maintained.
- Follow up with suppliers regarding order status, delivery schedules, and invoice-related inquiries.
- Monitor supplier invoices and assist with resolving discrepancies to facilitate timely payment processing.
- Maintain procurement records, documentation, and purchasing reports as required.
- Support vendor communication and relationship management activities.
- Assist with inventory-related purchasing needs and replenishment requests as applicable.
- Provide administrative and operational support to the Purchasing & Planning team.
- Help identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, efficiency, and compliance.
- Perform other procurement-related duties and special projects as assigned.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma Required. Associate Degree Preferred.
• Subject to varying seasonal temperature changes within the plant and exposure to
environmental dust.
• Must wear protective head, hands, face, ears and or other body gear as required.
• Two - Three years' experience in the same or similar position required.
Education details
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
Certifications:
• Supply Chain Management (Desired)
• GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
