Small Blessings Preschool is a warm, play-based, faith-centered early childhood program serving children ages 2 through VPK. We believe children learn best through hands-on exploration, meaningful relationships, and joyful experiences. Our teachers work together as collaborative teams in a supportive environment where everyone is valued.

Position Summary

We are seeking a caring, dependable Assistant Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to grow professionally in early childhood education.

As an Assistant Teacher, you will partner with an experienced Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom where children can learn, play, and thrive.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate, play-based learning experiences.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Engage with children throughout the day by playing, reading, talking, and encouraging learning through exploration.
• Assist with classroom routines, transitions, meals, and outdoor play.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized classroom.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and school events.
• Model professionalism, kindness, flexibility, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with young children preferred
• CDA (or willingness to obtain within 12 months)
• 45-hour Child Care Training (or willingness to complete within 12 months)
• First Aid & Pediatric CPR (or willingness to complete)
• Eligible through Florida DCF Clearinghouse
• Reliable, positive, collaborative, and eager to learn

Schedule

• Monday-Friday
• Approximately 8:00 AM-1:30 PM
• Team teaching model - you'll never be working alone.
