Submissions & Development Intern (Hybrid, 15 hrs/week)
Overview
The Submissions & Development Intern supports the gallery’s growth through research, funding opportunities, and sales development. This role combines curatorial research, institutional outreach, and commercial strategy.
This position is ideal for students interested in curating, arts administration, business, or cultural entrepreneurship.
Responsibilities
- Research open calls, exhibitions, residencies, and submission opportunities
- Maintain a structured database of deadlines, requirements, and contacts
- Assist with preparing and submitting applications and proposals
- Support grant research and funding applications
- Track institutional and commercial opportunities for gallery growth
- Assist in identifying and developing sales channels and potential clients
- Support follow-up communication with collectors, partners, and buyers
- Contribute to sales strategy development and outreach planning
Sales Component (Optional but Encouraged)
Interns may assist in executing approved sales strategies. Where directly contributing to successful artwork or merchandise sales, a commission or percentage-based incentive may be offered.
Requirements
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Interest in contemporary art systems, markets, or cultural institutions
- Comfortable working independently with deadlines
- Professional communication and organizational ability
- Business, marketing, or arts administration background is a plus
- Spanish language ability is helpful but not required
