ServiceNow Developer

Job Role: ServiceNow Developer

Contract Type: W2 Contract

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow applications and custom solutions across modules including ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, GRC, SPM, and ITAM
  • Develop and maintain ServiceNow platform components including Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, UI Policies, UI Actions, Scheduled Jobs, and Flow Designer workflows
  • Build and configure Service Catalog items, Record Producers, Order Guides, and approval workflows to streamline service delivery.
  • Design and maintain CMDB architecture including Discovery, Service Mapping, and dependency mapping to ensure accurate configuration data
  • Implement and maintain ServiceNow reporting, dashboards, Performance Analytics, and KPI tracking for operational visibility
  • Manage and execute ServiceNow upgrades, patch releases, and cloning activities with minimal disruption to production environments
  • Conduct technical design reviews, code reviews, and ensure adherence to ServiceNow development best practices and coding standards
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct fit-gap analysis, and produce technical design documents
  • Mentor junior and mid-level ServiceNow developers, provide guidance on platform capabilities, and support knowledge transfer activities
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 9+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development and implementation experience across multiple modules and enterprise environments
  • Deep expertise in core ServiceNow platform components including Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, ACLs, and Workflow / Flow Designer
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and AngularJS or React within the ServiceNow platform context
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow ITSM modules — Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Asset, and Knowledge Management
  • Proven experience with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, MID Server, Integration Hub spokes, and third-party API connections
  • Solid understanding of ITIL v4 framework and how it applies to ServiceNow process design and implementation
  • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping for accurate asset and configuration tracking
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow security including ACLs, roles, groups, domain separation, and data isolation
  • Experience with ServiceNow HRSD, Legal Service Delivery, Workplace Service Delivery, or Industry-specific solutions
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow GRC — Policy and Compliance, Risk Management, or Audit Management
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow App Engine, Creator Workflows, and low-code / no-code development using App Engine Studio
  • Experience with ServiceNow ITOM modules — Event Management, Cloud Management, or Orchestration

ServiceNow Certifications Preferred

  • Certified System Administrator (CSA) — strongly preferred
  • Certified Application Developer (CAD) — strongly preferred
  • Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in ITSM, HRSD, CSM, GRC, or ITOM
