Art Teacher Position 2026-2027

Villa Victoria Academy, a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for young women in grades 6–12, is located in Ewing, New Jersey, in Mercer County along the scenic Delaware River. Villa Victoria Academy provides a nurturing learning environment characterized by small class sizes, strong student-faculty relationships, and a commitment to faith-integrated academic excellence.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Teacher of Art and Yearbook Designer to join our educational team who can teach 2-D and 3-D art and design to middle school students (grades 6-8) and high school students (grades 9-12), including theory and application. Knowledge of the College Board Advanced Placement Art courses is a plus. The ideal candidate is a versatile educator with cross-disciplinary expertise who can adaptively span different media and content areas as needed. The successful candidate will be a professional, diligent, and collaborative educator who demonstrates respect, initiative, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to the holistic development of young women. This individual will be expected to be an active presencewithin the school community and to support student activities and events beyond the classroom, engaging with the whole school community.


Responsibilities
• Embrace, support, and actively contribute to advancing the Catholic mission and philosophy of Villa Victoria Academy.
• Create a positive, nurturing, and faith-integrated classroom environment.
• Implement effective instructional strategies and best practices in pedagogy that promote student growth and achievement.
• Develop and implement curriculum guides that align with educational standards and Villa Victoria Academy's mission and philosophy.
• Create lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students can engage with the material.
• Collaborate with administration, faculty, and staff to support the academic, social, and spiritual development of students.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s development.

• Be present in school full time with few to no absences and be available outside of school hours to engage in the school community activities.
• Plan, design, and complete the annual yearbook, ensuring that photos are taken of all school events and activities.
• Moderate an art club after school once a week.


Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Teacher certification preferred.
• Commitment to the mission, values, and educational philosophy of a Catholic,
independent, college preparatory school for young women.
• Professional demeanor, initiative, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
• Excellent attendance record for in-person instruction.
• Expertise in content area and demonstrated knowledge of effective instructional practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong technology skills and the ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning and yearbook design.
• Ability and willingness to be actively engaged in school life beyond regular classroom responsibilities.
• Organizational skills to manage all responsibilities effectively.
