Installation and Merchandising Technician

Position Overview:

Samplers Inc. is recruiting dependable, technically capable individuals for a business partner seeking support with electronics installation, retail fixture assembly, product setup, and merchandising projects inside popular electronics stores.

This is a hands-on field position for individuals who are comfortable working with televisions, soundbars, speakers, consumer electronics, retail displays, and basic installation tools.

Samplers will assist with candidate sourcing and preliminary screening. Candidates selected to move forward will be hired, paid, scheduled, trained, supervised, and managed directly by the hiring company.

 

Work Location: Assigned electronics stores within the designated market

Schedule: Approximately 30–50 hours per week, based on project needs

Employment Type: Hourly employee of the hiring company and overtime applied, if needed

 

Compensation - $20 per hour

Selected employees will be paid directly by the hiring company in accordance with its regular payroll practices and applicable wage-and-hour laws.

Overtime eligibility, payroll frequency, travel-time compensation, mileage reimbursement, benefits, paid time off, and other employment terms will be determined and administered by the hiring company.

 

Schedule:

Candidates should generally be available to work approximately 30–50 hours per week.

  • Installation timelines
  • The hiring company’s operational requirements.

Employees may be assigned to one or more stores within their designated market. Weekly hours are anticipated but are not guaranteed.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Installing and assembling light retail fixtures;
  • Mounting, positioning, connecting, and setting up televisions;
  • Installing and connecting soundbars, speakers, and other consumer electronics;
  • Completing basic cable management;
  • Testing electronics and displays for proper operation;
  • Assembling and positioning retail displays;
  • Unpacking, staging, and placing products and equipment;
  • Supporting store resets and planogram changes;
  • Installing or replacing signage and display materials;
  • Performing general product merchandising;
  • Following written instructions, diagrams, planograms, and project specifications;
  • Using basic hand tools and approved installation equipment;
  • Taking photographs of completed work;
  • Completing electronic reports, checklists, and project documentation;
  • Communicating project status and issues to the assigned supervisor;
  • Maintaining an organized and safe work area;
  • Following company procedures and store policies;
  • Traveling between assigned locations within the market;
  • Performing related installation and merchandising duties as assigned.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Be available to work approximately 30–50 hours per week;
  • Have experience in electronics, retail merchandising, fixture installation, assembly, construction, field services, store resets, or a related role;
  • Be comfortable working with televisions, soundbars, speakers, displays, and consumer electronics;
  • Be able to safely use basic hand tools;
  • Be able to follow diagrams, planograms, and written project instructions;
  • Have reliable transportation;
  • Be able and willing to travel within the assigned market;
  • Have access to a smartphone capable of receiving instructions, taking photographs, and completing digital reports;
  • Demonstrate strong attendance, reliability, and communication;
  • Be comfortable working independently;
  • Be able to follow the direction of a field supervisor;
  • Interact professionally with management, employees, customers, and project stakeholders;
  • Be legally authorized to work in the United States;
  • Meet the hiring company’s lawful employment and onboarding requirements.
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods;
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, reach, push, and pull;
  • Use approved ladders or step stools;
  • Work in active retail and stockroom environments;
  • Lift, carry, move, and position televisions, electronics, fixtures, tools, displays, and merchandise;
  • Use carts and basic material-handling equipment;
  • Perform repetitive physical tasks associated with installation and merchandising work.

The hiring company will establish the essential functions and specific lifting requirements for the position. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable law.

 

Transportation and Technology Requirements:

  • Reliable transportation to assigned stores;
  • The ability to travel within the designated market;
  • A valid driver’s license when required for the assignment;
  • Any vehicle insurance required by the hiring company;
  • Access to a smartphone for communication, timekeeping, photography, and reporting.

The hiring company will communicate its policies concerning mileage reimbursement, travel time, parking, tolls, tools, equipment, and other business expenses.

 

Training and Supervision:

The hiring company will provide or arrange required job-specific training, safety instructions, project information, reporting procedures, and supervision.

Employees will report directly to a field supervisor or other manager designated by the hiring company.

All questions regarding scheduling, payroll, assignments, training, attendance, timekeeping, travel, expenses, workplace concerns, or employment policies must be directed to the hiring company.

 

Employment Relationship:
