Before And After School Assistant

BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL AM PROGRAM ASSISTANT

 

 

 

Title:               Before and After School Group AM Assistant

 

Reports to:                             Program Site Manager

 

 

Terms of Employment:        $14.00-$16.00 an hour

                                                Part-time, 10-month school year (late August through mid-June)

                                                Monday-Friday 

                                                7:00-9:30 am

 

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Provide academic and enrichment assistance to students in grades K4-5th

 on an individual and group basis.

  1. Facilitate and assist the lead with all curriculum and planning for children in K4-5th grade.
  2. Assist in the supervision and management of youth who participate in the Before and After Care Program.
  3. Ensure a warm and safe environment for youth. 
  4. Build communication and effective relationships with parents and students.
  5. Work well within a team to provide a well-managed and professional program. 
  6. Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have a degree or be pursuing a degree in education or a related field. Experience working with youth ages 4-12 years old in a group or one-on-one setting is a must. Candidate must be a self-starter, flexible to meet the needs of a fast-paced school-age program, and have excellent communication skills.

Evaluation: Position is evaluated yearly by the Site Manager, following successful probation.
