About the Role
Hillel Hebrew Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Middle School Science and Mathematics Teacher to join our faculty for the 2026–2027 academic year. This is an integrated role designed for an educator who is equally at home guiding students through an algebraic proof and leading them through a hands-on science investigation. The ideal candidate believes deeply that the best learning happens when students can touch, test, question, and discover — and brings that philosophy to life every day in the classroom.
Responsibilities
- This role encompasses the full range of professional responsibilities expected of a Hillel faculty member.
- The Science and Math Teacher will develop and refine curriculum maps, units, and lesson plans aligned with or exceeding Common Core State Standards.
- Will design integrated STEM learning experiences that bridge both disciplines.
- The teacher will plan and lead hands-on laboratory investigations, project-based science units, and experiential mathematics explorations that make learning active, relevant, and memorable.
Working Hours and Expectations
The school's regular business hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The teacher is expected to be punctual and fully present for all assigned duties, classes, and meetings within those hours. Supervisors may schedule meetings beginning as early as 7:30 AM and concluding no later than 5:00 PM; these are considered part of the standard workday.
