Business Development Intern

Location: Kansas City area (Prairie Village, KS)
Hours: Flexible, approximately 20-30 hours/week
Compensation: Purchase-based commission structure

About Amuse

Amuse is an early allergen introduction system designed to help parents introduce common allergens during infancy. Created by board-certified Allergist & Immunologist Dr. Brynn Everist, Amuse combines clinical expertise with a simple daily routine that supports modern allergy prevention strategies.

As an early-stage startup, we’re looking for someone who is excited to learn, eager to contribute, and interested in gaining hands-on experience across marketing, content, customer engagement, and growth. This role is a great opportunity for those interested in medical sales, marketing, business or entrepreneurship. 

Position Overview

The Business Development & Growth Intern will help expand awareness and distribution for Amuse through strategic partnerships, creator relationships, healthcare provider outreach, ambassador programs, and grassroots community initiatives.

This is an opportunity to work directly with company leadership and gain exposure to how a consumer health startup builds awareness, acquires customers, and creates scalable growth channels.

This position is structured as a 1099 independent contractor.

 

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Partnerships

·      Support the development of strategic partnerships that drive awareness and customer acquisition.

·      Research and maintain target lists for podcasts, creators, healthcare providers, and community partners

·      Coordinate podcast outreach and guest appearance opportunities

·      Identify and build relationships with creators and parent advocates

·      Support pediatrician and allergist office outreach efforts

·      Manage follow-up communication and relationship tracking

·      Maintain partnership pipelines and CRM spreadsheets

·      Assist with identifying new growth opportunities and partnerships

Ambassador Program Management (30%)

·      Help build and scale a community of advocates and referral partners.

·      Recruit and onboard ambassadors

·      Manage promo codes and referral tracking

·      Monitor code performance and redemption metrics

·      Coordinate product seeding and outreach

·      Gather testimonials, reviews, and user-generated content

·      Identify high-performing ambassadors and opportunities to expand the program

Community & Local Market Development (20%)

·      Strengthen Amuse’s presence within the Kansas City community.

·      Support local events and conferences

·      Build relationships with pediatric offices and family-focused businesses

·      Coordinate provider sample kits and educational materials

·      Identify opportunities for community partnerships and grassroots awareness

·      Represent Amuse at select local events as needed

Social & Community Support (10%)

·      Support brand presence and customer engagement.

·      Monitor social channels and community conversations

·      Surface customer stories and user-generated content

·      Assist with light social media and community management

·      Stay informed on parenting and infant-feeding conversations and trends

Required Skills

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·      Highly organized and dependable

·      Comfortable initiating conversations and building relationships

·      Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to wear multiple hats

·      Self-starter who enjoys solving problems and taking ownership

·      Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

·      Interest in startups, healthcare, consumer brands, or business development

Preferred Experience

·      Experience in sales, partnerships, fundraising, or event planning

·      Familiarity with Canva, Instagram, and influencer marketing

·      Experience leading organizations, clubs, or campus groups

·      Connections within the Kansas City parenting or healthcare communities

·      Interest in healthcare, pediatrics, nutrition, or maternal and infant wellness
