DentalEZ – Bay Minette, Alabama

DentalEZ is a leading manufacturer of dental equipment and solutions, committed to supporting dental professionals with high-quality products and innovative technology. We are seeking an IT Intern to join our team in Bay Minette, Alabama and support a major facility transition project, along with day-to-day IT operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a student or early-career IT professional to gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while working on real-world infrastructure, workstation, and user support initiatives.

Position Details

  • Location: DentalEZ, 2500 Highway 31 South, Bay Minette, AL
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST
  • Work Arrangement: On-site only
  • Internship Term: June/July 2026 through the end of 2026 (with flexibility based on student availability)
  • Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
  • Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

Position Summary

DentalEZ is in the process of relocating a facility from Oregon to Bay Minette, Alabama. As part of this transition, production equipment and IT assets will be moved and reestablished at the Bay Minette site. The IT Intern will play a key role in supporting the setup and functionality of workstations, network-connected equipment, user accounts, servers, backups, and other IT infrastructure to ensure employees have the tools and access they need to be successful.

This internship offers valuable exposure to enterprise IT operations, hardware deployment, account administration, labeling systems, and technical support in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with Active Directory and user account management, including setup and support of employee and kiosk accounts
  • Support workstation deployment, including updating, imaging, configuring, and deploying computers
  • Help set up and troubleshoot label printers and support the company’s enterprise labeling software, NiceLabel
  • Assist with NiceLabel updates and changes, including setting up new label printing stations and helping maintain label databases and templates
  • Support IT cleanup and decommissioning efforts, including retiring old workstations, servers, and miscellaneous equipment
  • Verify hard drives are properly cleared and removed from decommissioned equipment
  • Coordinate transfer of usable spare equipment to other company locations as needed
  • Provide day-to-day technical support and incident response for onsite employees
  • Assist with network expansion projects, server room cleanup, and new server setup
  • Help ensure systems, devices, and user access are functioning properly during and after the facility transition

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree or technical training in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Windows operating systems, workstation setup, and general IT support concepts
  • Exposure to Active Directory, networking, or enterprise systems is preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset
  • Ability to work onsite in Bay Minette, AL throughout the internship term

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship, coursework, or hands-on experience in IT support, system administration, or desktop support
  • Experience with imaging workstations, printer setup, or user account administration
  • Interest in infrastructure, manufacturing technology, or systems support
