Program Coordinator
Overview
Oberlin Weekday Community Meals, a program of Christ Episcopal Church of Oberlin, seeks a full-time Program Coordinator to implement our vision of a collaborative and joyful community dining experience. The ideal candidate will be a self-directed, organized leader with a passion for and experience in grass-roots organizing, empowering others, and bringing a diverse community together around a shared goal of providing delicious and nutritious free meals in a welcoming environment. The position requires outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, supervisory experience, and a willingness to network locally to promote and grow the program and its opportunities for participation. Desired qualifications include food service, asset-based community development, event planning, fundraising, and grant writing experience, with a commitment to diversity. Responsibilities
- Manage program logistics, including scheduling events, coordinating resources, and overseeing daily operations.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate paid staff and volunteers.
- Promote a collaborative environment that empowers all participants to contribute fully.
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and joyful environment for all.
- Prioritize just, collaborative, and sustainable practices.
- Oversee fundraising initiatives and grant applications to support program sustainability.
- Provide administrative support by maintaining accurate records, managing budgets, and coordinating team activities.
Experience
- Proven experience in volunteer management and supervising teams in community or organizational settings.
- Restaurant experience or food-service background; familiarity with commercial kitchens and preparing meals for groups, and food-safety protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and comfort with diverse and underserved populations.
- Administrative experience handling budgets, scheduling, reporting, and documentation tasks efficiently.
