School Counselor

Join our vibrant K-8 Catholic school community as a part-time School Counselor dedicated to fostering the academic, social, spiritual and emotional growth of our students. The counselor works collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community resources to foster student well-being while promoting the mission and values of the Catholic faith.
GRACE - Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School is looking for a part time School Counselor for the 26-27 school year. GRACE is looking for passionate employees and this position is responsible for fostering a safe, welcoming, positive learning environment for all students and co-workers and providing lessons that meet or exceed state, local, and school standards.
Essential Responsibilities
Provide individual and small-group counseling to students experiencing academic, social, emotional, or behavioral concerns.
Assist students in developing positive coping skills, healthy relationships, and responsible decision-making.
Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify and support students' needs.
Consult with parents regarding student concerns and appropriate interventions.
Make referrals to outside mental health professionals or community agencies when appropriate.
Assist in crisis intervention and response planning as needed.
Support student success through academic and behavioral guidance.
Maintain confidential student records in accordance with school policies and applicable laws.
Participate in student support meetings, parent conferences, and faculty meetings as requested.
Promote a safe, respectful, and faith-centered school environment.
Integrate Catholic values and teachings into counseling services and student support activities.
Qualifications
Have or are working toward a Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
Experience working with school-age children and adolescents preferred.
Knowledge of child development, counseling techniques, and crisis intervention.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Commitment to supporting and upholding the mission and values of Catholic education.
Current Wisconsin DPI License or actively working towards licensure
Submission to a legal background check
Ability to self-motivate
Ability to work in a busy environment
Practicing Catholic or ability to support Catholic mission and teachings as an employee
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, stand, sit, and frequently bend or twist at the neck and trunk. The employee will use the hands to feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally exert or lift up to 40 pounds. Successful performance requires specific vision abilities that include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision
