External Relations Intern – Career Center

Position Description:
The Towson University Career Center is seeking a student intern to support the External Relations (ER) team with employer engagement efforts, on-campus event coordination, and ongoing initiatives related to our Career Center Partnership Program. The intern will play a key role in delivering a high-quality experience for our employer partners and expanding career opportunities for Towson students.
This is a hands-on position ideal for students interested in business, communication, event planning, or marketing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the planning and execution of employer-facing events (e.g., career fairs, info sessions, networking events)
- Provide direct support for the Career Center Partnership Program, including tracking partner deliverables (e.g., social media promotion, event participation, email campaigns), helping coordinate and document partner engagement activities and supporting communication and outreach specific to partner-level employers.
- Schedule and support employer tabling across the different colleges.
- Create and monitor SignUp Genius links for employer tabling and info sessions, and send confirmations.
- Email parking and logistics details to employer guests when appropriate.
- Monitor the External Relations email inbox and respond to inquiries professionally.
- Conduct employer research to identify new leads aligned with student interests.
- Provide day-of event support, including setup, employer check-in, and customer service.
- Contribute to special projects supporting the Career Center’s employer engagement strategy.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professionalism and attention to detail
- Experience with navigating Handshake
- Must attend the MANDATORY August 19th training
