Manufacturing Engineer Co-op

About the Role
Work directly with the Manufacturing Engineering department to drive Continuous Improvement efforts,
develop and improve manufacturing processes, and promote safe work practices while minimizing
manufacturing costs.


Key Responsibilities
• Maintain quality standards by enforcing organization and 5S standards
• Utilize CAD to develop facility layout drawings for production and support areas
• Conduct process flow studies and propose improvements based on Lean Manufacturing principles
• Perform time studies and update time standards
• Evaluate data collection systems and make recommendations
• Evaluate ergonomics and safety within manufacturing operations
• Research, design, modify, and test manufacturing methods and equipment
• Analyze workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout to improve efficiency
• Prepare product and process reports by collecting and summarizing data
• Investigate cobot and optical inspection options within a flow cell
 

Qualifications
• Sophomore+ in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or Sciences from an accredited
4-year college
• CAD experience required; SolidWorks preferred
• Strong critical problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Willing to work directly on the production floor
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work 40 hrs/week with minimal supervision
