About us: USU’s Space Making Program is for USU students to talk through life’s challenges in a confidential setting. The service provides opportunities for students facing challenges to navigate conflict with support from Space-Makers, fellow students who listen without judgment, to facilitate meaningful conversations with their peers. Space-makers are formally trained in conflict management and facilitation through courses, hours of observation, ongoing training, and practice in holding safe, exploratory conversations with others.

About the Role: The Marketing Assistant will aid in a variety of tasks to support the conversational space-makers program and the Conflict Management & Facilitation Certificate. The ideal candidate will help us to brainstorm ways to spread the word about our program and connect more students with it through a variety of different formats and then help bring those ideas to life.

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

- Coordination meetings with Program Director and team

- Content creation such as infographics, videos, documents, and more

- Social Media Planning

- Event planning

- Working with other students in our program, directing their efforts to help marketing initiatives

Skills Needed:

- Strong interpersonal communication skills

- Strong time-management and organization skills

- Familiarity with social media

- Instagram, LinkedIn, and the Space Makers website - https://artsci.usu.edu/peace-institute/space-makers/

- Familiarity with Canva and/or other design platforms

- Proactive and a willingness to collaborate on projects

- Background in marketing principles

 

Qualifications:

- Currently enrolled student at Utah State University

- Preference for marketing students or students with a marketing background

- Preference for individuals with familiarity with the Space Making Program and/or the Conflict Management & Facilitation Certificate.

Compensation:

- $15 per hour

- 10-15 hours a week

- Duration: September 16th, 2026 - December 15th, 2026, with potential for re-hire spring semester
