Key Responsibilities

Model Development & Empirical Research

  • Design and conduct empirical research to test hypotheses about financial markets using statistical and machine learning techniques .
  • Develop predictive models to forecast asset prices and evaluate investment signals .
  • Apply econometric models and machine learning methodologies to support systematic investment processes .

Data Analysis & Engineering

  • Analyze large-scale financial datasets using Python and SQL .
  • Assist in the data value chain: gather new data, clean and structure data, create descriptive statistics, and use data as model inputs .
  • Engineer features across price, volatility, and macro factors using pandas and NumPy .

Production & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with quantitative researchers, data engineers, and business teams to understand and refine research ideas .
  • Submit strategies via GitHub Pull Requests, learning professional code review standards .
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior researchers and receive feedback in a rigorous environment .

Qualifications & Skills

Education

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a highly quantitative field: Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Statistics, Financial Engineering, or related discipline .

Technical Proficiency

  • Python: Strong programming skills with experience in NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn .
  • SQL: Experience working with databases for data analysis .
  • Version Control: Familiarity with GitHub for collaborative coding .
  • Machine Learning: Basic understanding of ML tools (random forest, gradient-boosted trees, etc.) is useful .

Nice to Have

  • Experience with C, C++, or other high-performance languages .
  • Data visualization tools (Tableau, Sigma) .
  • Understanding of financial instruments (including derivatives) .
  • Web development tools (Django, HTML/CSS/JS) .

Important notes

Our internship compensation structure depends on the duration of the program.
For in-person internships lasting less than three months, the focus is primarily on professional learning and hands-on experience. As such, compensation is not guaranteed for these shorter placements.

For internships exceeding three months, a monthly allowance is provided starting from the first month. The amount typically ranges between 300 and 500 USD per month, depending on the role and time commitment.

For on-site internships in China, we offer the necessary supporting documents and guidance to help students apply for the appropriate internship visa. However, applicants are responsible for ensuring they meet all relevant visa requirements.
