Membership Operations Coordinator

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden | Richmond, VA

Full-time, Non-Exempt 

Pay: $19-21 per hour

Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Membership Operations Coordinator to support the daily operations of our Membership Office. This position plays a critical role in ensuring accurate membership processing, maintaining constituent records, supporting technology needs, and delivering exceptional service to members and donors.

What You'll Do

Membership Operations & Database Management

  • Process memberships accurately and efficiently.
  • Enter, update, and maintain confidential constituent and gift information within the Garden’s CRM system.
  • Generate membership receipts, cards, acknowledgments, and related correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate member, donor, and organizational records.
  • Conduct periodic data audits and cleanup projects to ensure database integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and support CRM-related processes and technology needs for the Membership team.

Customer Service & Member Experience

  • Provide exceptional customer service to current and prospective members.
  • Respond to membership inquiries in a timely, professional, and friendly manner.
  • Ensure every interaction reflects the Garden’s commitment to hospitality and excellence.
  • Help create a positive experience for members, donors, and guests.

Collaboration & Organizational Support

  • Work collaboratively across Advancement and other Garden departments.
  • Cross-train with Advancement Services to support reporting and financial reconciliation processes.
  • Support special events and membership initiatives as needed.

What We're Looking For

  • 1–2 years of nonprofit experience, preferably in membership services, database management, or data entry.
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong technical skills and proficiency using CRM software systems; Tessitura experience preferred.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Commitment to excellent customer service and the Garden’s mission and values.

Schedule Requirements

  • Flexible schedule required.
  • Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and special events as needed.
  • Required to work evenings during Dominion Energy GardenFest of Lights.
