Employee Benefits Associate Account Rep - Career Development Program

About the Role:

The Employee Benefits Account Representative Career Development Program is designed to provide comprehensive training that prepares associates for client-facing and customer-oriented roles. As a participant, you'll join a mentorship business group led by industry experts, allowing you to develop your skills and take on increasing responsibilities. The program also features organized activities to connect with senior executives and network with colleagues across business lines. Additionally, you'll have the chance to participate in our USI Gives Back campaign, volunteering in local community service projects alongside team members from over 200 offices nationwide.

What You'll Do:


  • Assist in all aspects of account management for a diverse range of business segment clients.

  • Coordinate client service needs, such as managing employee ID cards, coverage booklets, and contracts.

  • Gather client census data to support the renewal process.

  • Review insurance contracts and verify the accuracy of client plan documents.

  • Provide support for enrollment, premium billing, and escalated claim issues.

  • Coordinate applications and forms for implementing insurance products.

  • Prepare communication materials for client meetings, including benefit summaries, guides, mobile app setup, and recorded presentations.

  • Attend internal and external client strategy meetings.

  • Develop networking and relationship-building skills through structured activities and mentorship.

  • Participate in over 1,300 hours of formalized training and hands-on work experience, including:

    • Months 1-3: 100% training

    • Months 4-6: 50% training, 50% fieldwork

    • Months 7-18: 20% training, 80% fieldwork

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.

  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.

  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to follow policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Outstanding verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.

  • Demonstrated initiative, responsibility, and accountability.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.


This position has an annual salary of $65,000 with a 5% bonus at the completion of the program.
