English Teacher | Lancaster County Academy
Rate: $38.08/hour
Schedule: 25 hours per week
Status: Part-Time, 10-month position
Location: LCA East and/or LCA West, as assigned

Position Summary
Lancaster County Academy is seeking a part-time English Teacher to provide targeted instruction and academic support to students completing English language arts coursework in an alternative diploma program. The English Teacher will support students through individualized instruction, writing support, reading comprehension strategies, credit recovery, and progress monitoring.
This role requires a teacher who can build positive relationships with students, support individualized learning, and help students make steady progress toward graduation.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide small-group and one-on-one English instruction aligned to student academic plans.
- Support students with reading, writing, course completion, and credit recovery.
- Differentiate instruction and implement student accommodations as needed.
- Monitor student pacing toward monthly credit goals and provide timely interventions.
- Maintain accurate grades, progress documentation, and academic plan updates.
- Communicate student progress and concerns with the Director, Site Lead, counselor, and support staff.
- Participate in data meetings and recommend academic interventions when appropriate.
- Support a positive, structured, and trauma-informed learning environment.
- Uphold LCA policies, safety procedures, and professional expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania teaching certification in English, English Language Arts, or appropriate content area.
- Experience supporting students in alternative education, credit recovery, or individualized learning environments preferred.
- Strong communication, documentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and educational technology.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with trauma-informed and restorative practices.
- Experience working with at-risk or nontraditional learners.
- Multiple certifications or additional content-area flexibility preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred, but not required.
Required Clearances/Certifications
- PA Criminal History Clearance
- PA Child Abuse Clearance
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance
- Act 126 Mandated Reporter Training
- Current TB test, per district requirements
- CPR/First Aid preferred or willingness to obtain within 60 days
