JOB SUMMARY:

The UW Husky Health Center has an outstanding opportunity for a Student Administrative Intern 

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: 

The Student Administrative Intern will report to the Executive Assistant and provide members of the Executive Team with administrative support necessary for running a multi-unit student health clinic. 

 

This is a work study eligible (but not required) position, 8 hours per week minimum (flexible hours), $21.30 per hour, with an ability to commit for one academic year (fall-spring quarter of 2026-27). The Student Administrative Intern will produce a Capstone project that contributes meaningfully to HHC office operations, culminating in a resource that can be maintained for use by staff after the internship ends. The subject and execution of the project will be determined by the intern with mentorship from the Executive Team.

 

ABOUT HUSKY HEALTH:

Husky Health Center, on the UW Seattle Campus in the Division of Student Life, is an AAAHC-accredited outpatient facility providing high quality health care to a primarily young adult population. As a student-focused clinical unit within the Division of Student Life, we are committed to supporting the health, well-being, and success of UW’s student population. We provide comprehensive, full-spectrum primary and preventive care in over 40,000 patient encounters annually. Our services include Primary and Same Day Care, Physical Therapy, Sports Medicine, OB/GYN and Travel Medicine. We are co-located with an on-site pharmacy and a branch of the UW Medicine Laboratory, and we work collaboratively with campus partners like the UW Counseling Center and Student Life’s health promotion and prevention services to provide holistic support that helps students thrive throughout their Husky experience.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in onboarding tasks for new staff. 
  • Maintain documents on shared staff internal resource website (SharePoint).
  • Verify accuracy of license/certification data for clinical staff on SharePoint using authoritative sources treatment areas.
  • Collaborate with HHC MarComm interns on special projects (Photography, Event coordination, Website/slideshow maintenance, Graphic design, Content marketing, Additional Video).
  • Catalog all HHC history documents, write an updated history overview document, and work with StoryWell to promote HHC services to students.
  • Assist in coordinating Continuing Education opportunities for staff across departments.
  • Assist in coordinating clinic staff schedules to provide shadowing opportunities for eligible students.
  • Draft, print and mail letters to patients of providers departing from HHC.
  • Assist in clinic supply distribution.
  • Other administrative support duties as needed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams

 

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Work study eligibility desired but not required.
  • Interest in health care/higher education administration.
  • Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills; familiarity with MS Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

Standard Work hours:  Flexible Part-time, minimum of 8 hours per week
