Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs measurement and medical history review.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventative care, and treatment options.
- Take dental radiographs digitally while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using a hybrid of paper charts and Eaglesoft.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality and documentation review.
- Support infection control procedures through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments.
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide seamless patient care, especially in pediatric dentistry settings when applicable.
- Document treatment notes accurately, review medical coding for billing purposes, and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
Experience
- Previous experience working as a Registered Dental Hygienist is preferred.
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical terminology.
- Familiarity with dental imaging techniques and vital signs monitoring is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical records management, and documentation review processes is essential.
