We are seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Editorial Intern to join our New York team for the Fall 2026 Internship Program. This program provides students with meaningful, hands-on experience in publishing while supporting their academic and professional development.

Program Details

  • Duration: September 2026 – December 2026
  • Schedule: Part Time Under 30hrs
  • Location: Hybrid (New York office with remote flexibility)
  • Potential Extension: Opportunity to continue into Spring 2027

Compensation This internship follows a flexible model and may be completed as a paid internship, for academic credit, or a combination of both, depending on the student’s academic program and preferences.

Responsibilities As an Editorial Intern, you will gain exposure to the publishing process and support the editorial team in a variety of areas, including:

  • Copyediting and proofreading manuscripts and page proofs for grammar, style, and clarity
  • Creating art logs, book maps, and other project tracking tools
  • Attending production meetings to observe cross-functional collaboration
  • Researching ideas and supporting development of potential book proposals
  • Assisting with departmental presentations and learning about different publishing functions
  • Supporting communication between editorial, design, and marketing teams
  • Drafting and maintaining marketing copy, including book descriptions and metadata
  • Working on individual projects under editorial guidance
  • Assisting with additional editorial and administrative tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited institution 
  • Majoring in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field 
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and written communication skills 
  • Interest in publishing, editing, and illustrated books 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and collaboratively
