Staff Accountant

Job Description:

Accountable for day to day accounting tasks related to the operations of Liberty Furniture Industries to include booking of cash transactions, preparation of journal entries, reconciliations of monthly general ledger, and special projects as assigned. This position will assist the Controller and CFO in the preparation of financial statements and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Journal Entries (Prepaids, Accruals, Payroll JEs, etc.)
  • Expenses Account analysis; research variances
  • Help prep department budget to actual reports
  • Fixed Assets & Leases
  • Set and Communicate Month-end and related deadlines
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Inventory
  • A/R
  • A/P
  • Due from Factor
  • Census Bureau Reporting
  • Main Treasury Contact
  • Calculate and enter wires
  • Respond to factory inquires and audit confirmation requests
  • Daily Cash Reports
  • Cash Flow Forecast
  • Loan Borrow Base Calculation
  • Assist in maintaining accounting procedures
  • Assist with process improvements and automations
  • Ad hoc Reporting and Trend Analysis/ Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications Include:

·        Accounting Degree

·        Experience 0-5 years

·        Great Plains Experience (Preferred)

·        Intermediate Excel Experience (Strongly Preferred)

·        Proactive personality and strong communication skills
