Medical Assistant II

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and patient‐focused Medical Assistant II to serve as the first point of contact for patient care in a fast‐paced outpatient setting. This role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities, supporting physicians and nurses while delivering high‐quality, patient‐centered care.

The ideal candidate is detail‐oriented, bilingual, and experienced in back‐office clinical procedures, with a strong commitment to improving patient outcomes and overall care experience.

 

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist patients during clinic visits, serving as the initial point of contact
  • Discuss symptoms and accurately document information in the electronic medical records (EMR) system
  • Take and record vital signs
  • Perform clinical tasks within scope, including:
    • Administering injections
    • Performing diagnostic tests
    • Collecting specimens
    • Conducting phlebotomy (required)
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment
  • Support physicians and nurses in delivering direct patient care
  • Perform administrative and operational tasks to support clinic workflow
  • Manage patient interactions and prioritize tasks in a high‐volume environment
  • Follow established procedures while exercising judgment in task prioritization

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual (required)
  • 1–3 years of Medical Assistant experience in back‐office patient care
  • Active Medical Assistant certification or registration (CMA/RMA) and applicable state licensure
  • Current CPR certification
  • Phlebotomy experience (required)
  • Experience working in a fast‐paced, high‐volume clinical environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and basic computer systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team‐oriented mindset with a patient‐first approach
  • Willingness to participate in TB screening (patient‐facing role requirement)
  • Passion for improving patient and consumer experience

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Athena EMR system
  • Hands‐on professional phlebotomy experience
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Experience with HEDIS measures
  • Certification from organizations such as AAMA, NHA, AMT, or similar
  • Radiologic Technologist license (ARRT)
  • Less than 2 years of leadership experience
