Interior Design Intern

Mancha Builders is seeking an Interior Design Intern / Designer to assist with residential and commercial design projects in Amarillo, Texas. This position is intended for someone who is organized, design-minded, and interested in gaining hands-on experience in real-world construction and development work.

This role will support active projects through finish selections, material research, drafting assistance, project coordination, and jobsite verification. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, communicating professionally, and helping carry projects from early design through construction.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with interior finish and material selections for residential and commercial projects
  • Help prepare design presentations, mood boards, and client-facing visuals
  • Support furniture, fixture, and finish research/specification
  • Assist with drafting, interior elevations, and cabinet or layout markups as needed
  • Visit jobsites to verify dimensions, track progress, and ensure design intent is being carried through construction
  • Help organize samples, product information, and project files
  • Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal team members when needed
  • Assist with miscellaneous project support tasks related to design, construction, and development

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field is preferred
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Interest in residential and commercial construction/design
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Canva, Adobe, or similar design software is a plus
  • Ability to take direction, stay organized, and work on multiple tasks at once
  • Professional attitude and willingness to learn in a hands-on environment
