Exterior Residential Painter

JOB SUMMARY

You'll paint everything from ranch-style homes to 3-story historic exteriors.

Work includes repairing, prepping, painting, and finishing a variety of exterior surfaces — siding, trim, decks, fences, railings, doors, and shutters. No two houses are the same.

You'll join a small crew that takes pride in quality work, treats every home like their own, and shows up for each other and the customer.

  • Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, and shaving
  • Conceal cracks, holes, etc., with fillers using caulk guns and putty knives
  • Smooth surfaces using sandpaper, steel wool, and sanding machines
  • Apply primers and sealers to prep surfaces for finish coats
  • Apply paints, stains, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray guns
  • Remove and replace fixtures, hardware, switches, and furniture as needed
  • Set up and move ladders
  • Examine finished surfaces for quality; touch up defects
  • Clean and maintain tools and equipment, using solvents, brushes, and rags
  • Handle and dispose of hazardous materials safely

WHO YOU ARE

  • Quality-driven — you take pride in doing it right, not just getting it done
  • Customer-focused — you understand a clean job site and a happy homeowner are part of the finished product
  • Honest and accountable — you own your mistakes, you communicate, and you don't cut corners
  • Owner-minded — you treat the truck, the tools, and the job like they're yours
  • Conscientious — you notice details others miss and follow through without being reminded
  • Hard-working — you show up ready, stay busy, and push through when it's hot, cold, or tedious

  • Team player — you've got your crew's back and know the job goes better when everyone works together

  • Safely use hand tools and power equipment common to construction
  • Steady hand and arm control for precise work
