Deputy Sheriff

Perry County is accepting applications for a Full Time Deputy in the Sheriff’s Office.  This position is responsible to maintain security in the Courtroom, as well as all other County buildings.

Primary duties include:

Perform courtroom and county building security

Transport inmates

Serve civil papers including writs complaints, court orders, protection from abuse orders etc.

Serve warrants

Prepare paperwork for service and sheriff sales

Prepare and issue license to carry and license to sell permits

Qualifications

High School Graduate, or equivalent

Valid PA Driver’s License

Must be 21 years of age

Act 2 or Act 120 training and/or law enforcement experience is preferred.

Compensation includes a starting salary of $21.36/hour, with consideration for relevant experience.  Perry County full time employment offers a comprehensive benefit package that includes generous paid time off, a County retirement plan, and health, dental, and vision insurance after a 90-day probation period.
