Electric Vehicle Training Technician
Mizer Motor Works Inc. (MMW) is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Electric Vehicle Assembly & Manufacturing Training Technician to support the launch and production of the MMW Trifecta UCV™ electric commuter vehicle program.
This unique position requires an individual who is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese and is capable of traveling to China for an intensive manufacturing training assignment. The selected candidate will work directly alongside our OEM manufacturing partner's assembly personnel to learn all aspects of vehicle production, quality control procedures, assembly methods, tooling requirements, and manufacturing best practices.
Upon returning to the United States, this individual will serve as a key technical trainer and manufacturing liaison responsible for transferring knowledge, developing assembly procedures, training production staff, and supporting MMW's U.S. assembly operations.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to become one of the foundational members of MMW's manufacturing team during the commercialization of an innovative electric vehicle platform.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Training & Knowledge Transfer
- Travel to China for a 2–4 week intensive manufacturing training assignment.
- Work directly with OEM assembly technicians and production supervisors.
- Learn all assembly processes for electric vehicle systems and components.
- Document assembly procedures, work instructions, quality standards, and manufacturing workflows.
- Develop comprehensive assembly manuals and training materials for U.S. operations.
- Capture manufacturing best practices and continuous improvement recommendations.
Vehicle Assembly Support
- Assemble electric vehicle systems including:
- Chassis components
- Suspension systems
- Steering assemblies
- Electrical harnesses
- Battery systems
- Drive systems
- Body panels and interior components
- HVAC and accessory systems
- Perform mechanical and electrical inspections.
- Conduct quality control checks throughout assembly operations.
- Support prototype, pilot, and production builds.
U.S. Production Training
- Train assembly technicians and production personnel in U.S. operations.
- Conduct hands-on classroom and shop-floor instruction.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Establish workstation setup and assembly sequencing.
- Assist in implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Evaluate employee proficiency and provide ongoing technical coaching.
Quality Assurance
- Verify compliance with assembly specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and resolve production issues.
- Support corrective action and root-cause investigations.
- Ensure consistent workmanship and manufacturing excellence.
Manufacturing Liaison
- Serve as a technical bridge between MMW and OEM manufacturing partners.
- Communicate production issues, improvements, and process recommendations.
- Assist engineering and production teams during product changes and manufacturing updates.
- Support supplier visits, audits, and production readiness reviews.
Required Qualifications
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Fluent in Mandarin Chinese (spoken and written).
- Ability to communicate effectively with Chinese manufacturing personnel and management.
Travel Requirements
- Must be eligible to obtain a Chinese business visa.
- Must be eligible for international travel.
- Willingness to travel internationally for periods of 2–4 weeks.
- Possess a valid passport or be capable of obtaining one.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in vehicle assembly, manufacturing, automotive, motorcycle, powersports, or electric vehicle production.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to read assembly drawings, technical specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
- Understanding of quality control and manufacturing processes.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in manufacturing and assembly environments.
- Ability to perform repetitive assembly tasks while maintaining quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electric vehicles (EVs).
- Experience with motorcycles, powersports vehicles, or three-wheel vehicles.
- Previous manufacturing training or instructional experience.
- Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Quality systems experience.
- Technical writing experience.
- Experience working in Chinese manufacturing facilities.
- Associate degree or technical certification in Automotive Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Electrical Systems, or related field.
