Job Title: Industrial Designer / Model Maker Intern

Location: Torrance, CA (On-site)

About the Role

Simplehuman is seeking an Industrial Designer / Model Maker Intern to join our Product

Development team. This role consists of building models and prototypes throughout the

product development cycle. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of product managers,

engineers, and designers that develop our innovative, modern products.

This is a full-time or part-time, on-site position located in our Torrance, CA office.

Responsibilities

Create prototypes and components from 3D model files supplied by the design and

engineering teams.

Use 3D printers, laser cutters, and other shop equipment to create medium- to

high-fidelity prototypes.

Maintain tools, shop cleanliness, and 3D printers.

Edit and optimize 3D model files for 3D printing.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design,

Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

Experience working with model-making materials and equipment such as foam core,

wood, metal, acrylic, power tools, and hand tools.

Experience with 3D printers required.

Proficiency in shop processes and safety procedures for tool use.

Proficiency in SolidWorks or Creo.

Builder/tinkerer with assembly and hands-on fabrication skills. Do you build furniture,
