Media Producer Job Description 

Job Title: Media Producer 
Location: UC main campus 
Reports To: Andrea Meyer 
Employment Type: Contract 
Salary Range: $1000 – $1000+ (with profit sharing, see Goal) 

 

Job Summary: 

A Media Producer is responsible for planning, developing, and executing multimedia content such as videos, live broadcasts, and digital campaigns. This role involves managing the production process from concept to completion, collaborating with creative teams, and ensuring final products meet quality standards and deliver on brand objectives. 

 

Description: 

Provide services related to A/V livestreaming and simultaneous A/V recording of Bearcat Band events. To schedule and promote the ucbearcatbands.net via social media and drive subscriptions to post a profit for the Bearcat Bands. To continue to locate resources to fill in missing archival footage of the Bearcat Bands throughout its history.   

 

Goal: 

The first FY27 goal is to generate a minimum of $1000 in distributions to at least cover your compensation/break even. When that is achieved, the second FY27 goal is to generate up to an additional $1000.00 in distributions. When that is achieved, the third FY27 goal is to generate beyond the total $2000 in distributions. 

 

Reporting to: Andrea Meyer, Assistant Director of Bearcat Bands 

 

Duration: 8/1/2026 to 7/31/2027 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Develop and pitch original ideas for multimedia content  

(video, audio, social media, live events) for ucbearcatbands.net 

Plan and manage production schedules, budgets, and resources for each project for ucbearcatbands.net 

Collaborate with Ms. Meyer, Ms. Ochmann and the work of writers, editors, designers, videographers, and technicians for ucbearcatbands.net 

Direct or produce content to align with creative vision and technical specifications for ucbearcatbands.net 

Collaborate with the media team to ensure content meets promotional goals for ucbearcatbands.net 

Review and edit content to meet quality and brand guidelines  

Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices to improve production quality  

Maintain and archive media assets for future use for ucbearcatbands.net 

 

Deliverables: 

Provide services related to A/V livestreaming and simultaneous A/V recording of Bearcat Band events such as: 

Marching Band Preview Show 

Marching Band Sounds of the Stadium Concert 

Fall Jazz and Concert Band performance 

Spring Jazz Band(s) performance 

Spring Concert Bands final performance 

Band Awards at Band Formal 

Additional events that are added to the calendar throughout the year.   

Provide service related to the upload of athletic event performances such as Pregame and Halftime performances within a 48-hour period after the event to the network for viewing.  

Send a copy of the performance to the Band Director within 24 hours of the performance. 

Create a calendar of events and schedule the events in the network as soon as the dates become solidified by the Bearcat Bands. 

Work in partnership with Box5 at events livestream and record the events. 

Communicate with Ms. Meyer, any necessary equipment needed to improve our overall broadcasting capabilities. 

Develop a marketing plan to drive additional traffic to the site throughout the next 12 months. 

Advertise online all scheduled events with a “Save the Date” reminder 3 weeks prior, a secondary reminder 1 week prior, a day before invite and a day after “in case you missed it” invite. 

Twice monthly social media posts to affiliated locations such as the Friends and Family group on Facebook and the Alumni band to advertise joining the network promoting archival footage features 

Monthly emails to find resources for footage of missing dates in the archives. 

 

Desired Qualifications: 

Education: Bachelor's degree in media production, Communications, Film/Video Production, or related field; advanced degree preferred but not required 

Experience: 2+ years in multimedia production; proven track record of managing successful projects preferred but not required 

Skills: 

Proficiency in production software (e.g., OBS, Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro)  

Strong project management and organizational skills. 

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. 

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 

Knowledge of digital media production processes and industry-standard equipment. 

Portfolio:  

Demonstrated experience in producing high-quality, engaging media content. 

Familiarity with social media content strategies and analytics. 

Strong networking and relationship-building skills. 

 

Work Environment: 

Flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, meet deadlines  

 

Compensation: Flat $1000.00 for your services. Additionally, anything beyond your flat $1000 up to an additional $1000 (for a total of $2000) we will revenue share 50/50, i.e. If the network receives a total of $1500 in distributions, your compensation would be $1250.00, and the Bearcat Bands would keep $250.00. If the network generates more than the additional $1000.00 mentioned (as in beyond a total of $2000.00), we will revenue-share at 25/75 favorable to the Bearcat Bands in order that the band program can really start to reap the fundraising benefits this network is intended to provide. 

In summary: 

You are guaranteed $1000.00 

If the network generates up to a total of $2000.00, you will receive 50% of the additional $1000.00 

If the network generates beyond a total of $2000.00, you will receive 25% of the excess amount. 

 Disbursement: Discuss directly with Andrea Meyer, Assistant Director, to establish timeline (ex. Biweekly, monthly, etc.).
