Position Overview
Salinas Insurance Agency-Farmers Insurance is seeking a motivated and professional Business Development & Market Research Assistant to support our agency's growth initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in business development, sales, marketing, market research, and client relationship management.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, comfortable communicating with business professionals, and interested in learning how a successful small business operates.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Research and identify prospective commercial insurance clients.
- Build and maintain prospect databases and lead lists.
- Conduct outreach to local businesses through phone, email, and social media.
- Assist with appointment setting and follow-up communications.
- Help develop strategies to generate new business opportunities.
Market Research
- Research local industries, businesses, and market trends.
- Identify target markets and potential referral partners.
- Analyze competitor offerings and market opportunities.
- Prepare reports and recommendations based on research findings.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional phone and email etiquette.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and online research tools.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Previous experience in sales, marketing, customer service, business, or administration is preferred but not required.
