Electronics/Quality Assurance Technician

Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician with Electronics background             Full-time, on site

Job Summary

The Electronics QA Technician has a hands-on role in an electronic component manufacturing business.  It is responsible for inspecting parts, assemblies, and materials to ensure they meet military, aerospace, and customer quality requirements. The position supports daily manufacturing operations by performing inspections, recording results, and reporting quality issues in accordance with AS9100 and company procedures.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities

Support the Quality Engineering department in all aspects of printed circuit board assembly.

  • Good understanding of electronic components and circuit design
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents such as schematics, specifications, and work instructions
  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections following written procedures and work instructions. Visual, and Electrical. 
  • Inspect parts and assemblies to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Ability to read and understand schematics as well as operate RF test equipment desired. 
  • Use calibrated measuring tools to verify dimensions and product features
  • Review material certifications and verify part and lot traceability
  • Accurately record inspection results, nonconformances, and inspection status
  • Clearly communicate inspection results and issues to supervisors or Quality personnel
  • Identify nonconforming product and follow segregation and labeling requirements
  • Follow AS9100, internal procedures, and customer flow-down requirements
  • Support audits by providing inspection records when requested
  • Maintain a clean and organized inspection area
  • Follow all safety, ESD, and FOD prevention requirements

Technical Skills (Hands-On)

  • Read and interpret datasheets/requirements and engineering drawings
  • Understand basic Geometric Dimensioning Symbols and Tolerances (GD&T)
  • Use precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, go/No-Go gauges.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 / aerospace quality requirements a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with IPC610 and IPC620 standards a plus
  • Understanding of material certifications, special processes, calibration controls and discrepant material processes. 
  • Knowledge of SPC run charts, continuous and discrete data 
  • Ability to develop work instructions for quality and manufacturing personnel

PC / Computer Skills

  • Enter inspection data into Excel spreadsheets or QMS software
  • Use Microsoft Word to complete inspection reports
  • Navigate ERP/MRP systems to verify part numbers, revisions, and lot information (specific on-the-job training provided)
  • View and review digital drawings and PDF specifications
  • Use email and electronic document systems (such as Teams/SharePoint) for daily communication

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree in Electronics OR related STEM background/experience
  • 1+ years of technical or inspection experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing is a plus

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Hourly position; overtime may be required based on production needs
  • Uses a microscope to inspect circuit boards and parts for defects
  • Sit frequently. Stand, walk, bend at times. Very light lifting may be required
